Under the school motto of ‘Independence, Creativity, and Service’, more than 4,000 students who comprise JEIU's 5 Universities and 21 majors are actively pursuing their goals to become professionals in specialized fields.
Dae Hun Electronic Technical College changed its name to JEIU University in 1998 as JEIU Education Co., Ltd., a corporation that promotes a total educational culture, became a parent corporation in 1997. Under the slogan that reads, 'Cultivating a Young, Quality Professionals’, jaineung is rapidly gaining prestige as the breeding ground for leaders of the 21st century information/knowledge oriented society.

The incumbent president Seung Chul Ahn (Ph.D in Economics), was former president of Industrial Bank of Korea as well as former head of KDI (Korea Development Institute). Under Dr. Ahn’s leadership, jaineung went through an overall reform, launching student-focused courses on theoretical background on various technologies, actual training, and field experience to prepare students for the actual industry.

JEIU has undertaken an extensive campus expansion project in an effort to enhance the quality of education; the main building was newly built (thirteen stories, one-level basement), and the Education Building with six stories and two-level basement was completed. Also, with recently finished campus landscaping project, jaineung now offers a more pleasant educational environment and a state-of-the-art educational facilities. jaineung particularly takes pride in a quality education provided by a large staff of top-notch professors with ample field experience.
